More About the Shaper
The Shaper is a synthesiser controller. The Shaper conforms to MIDI Specification 1.0 - 1983. Most synthesisers produced since the mid ‘80s conform to this specification, and the Shaper can control all synthesisers and sound generators which conform to MIDI 1.0.
The Shaper can be used in many different ways. For example, it can be used to play drums / percussion, bass lines and rhythm accompaniment…
But the great strength of the Shaper is in creating strong and powerful solo lines using the most striking new synthesiser voices in combination with precise fingertip control of pitch bends, slides, vibrato, glissando and portamento. All these shades of human expression - from the most subtle to the most extreme - can now be applied to any sounds produced by any MIDI controlled synthesiser or sound generator.

Live Performance
The Shaper management system has been designed for fast changes on-stage. At the press of a button, you can activate any of 1,000 internal memory setups. Shaper setups remember all the various Shaper modes and features configured just the way you want them for a particular piece, while at the same time sending control signals via MIDI to reconfigure the target synthesiser with your chosen sound – instantly.
Once a player is well-rehearsed in the ways of this new class of musical instrument, the Shaper will perform accurately, predictably and reliably on-stage.
However, the Shaper is a new concept, and it is highly recommended that players familiarise themselves in low pressure environments; perhaps progressing from learning during down-time, to rehearsals, to the studio - giving themselves time to fully experiment and create before they perform live, on-stage. This process should be managed gradually, step by step.

Product Release
The first production model is targeted for sale in early 2027. Before then, a number of refinements in mechanical design, electronic hardware and software are being finalised.
In the meantime, the only instrument available for personal appraisal is the pre-production prototype seen in the demonstration videos. Subject to staff constraints, it may be possible to schedule demos and appraisals for those who are keenly interested, and who would consider it worthwhile making a trip to Oxford, UK in order to do so. Reserving a Place on the Sales List
If you think that, subject to appraising the instrument yourself, you may be interested in purchasing a Shaper when available, then you may wish to reserve a place on the ‘no-obligation-list’.
It’s impossible to say how soon retailers near you might stock a Shaper for you to appraise, so, to re-emphasise, there will be absolutely no obligation to buy if it gets to your place in the list before you have the chance to put your hands on a Shaper, or see and hear it in action. Your name will just slip down the list until you have had the opportunity to conduct your own appraisal.
One of the advantages of getting involved early is that customer support will be personal. This support may prove invaluable when you are taking on lots of new ideas. The Shaper has plenty of those.

On-line Purchases
Buying on-line is not recommended. Playing the Shaper is different to playing a guitar, and a great deal of consideration will be involved before making a decision to purchase.
However, if a customer insists on buying on-line and having the instrument shipped without appraisal, so long as the customer makes clear that they understand the risks involved, requests for on-line purchases will be honoured.
Could you become a Sales Agent?
Any customer who develops the necessary skills for playing and demonstrating the Shaper can sign up for our Sales Agent Scheme.
This will make it profitable for you to network with other musician friends and colleagues, earning a commission on any sales you arrange in this way. As a Shaper Sales Agent, you will get as much customer support as we can provide in helping you sell. You will also be able to post your and your customers’ demos on our website to promote your commercial activities.
Early adopters of the Shaper, particularly those with a good knowledge of synthesisers and MIDI interfacing, will also be in good position to build a reputation as an influencer; running on-line seminars and one-on-one coaching sessions on line.
